In the morning you visit the modern exhibition "Worlds of bees" in the nature information center in Niederhaverbeck: What is special about bees? What is special about heather bee kernels? What are the special features of wax and honey? Which devices do beekeepers work with today, which ones did they use in the past during the heather farming era? The newly designed exhibition by the VNP Foundation for the Nature Conservation Park is dedicated to these and many other questions.
Duration approx. 1 hour
Afterwards, you and your group will return to the Heidehotel Bockelmann for lunch. The menu includes Heidschnuck specialties.
Duration approx. 1 hour
After lunch you drive to the Heide-Erlebnis-Zentrum in Undeloh. A visit is worthwhile all year round, regardless of the weather - because here you get the key to the heather. The icy past explains how today's landscape was shaped by ice and wind. Old heather farmers, shepherds and beekeepers talk about their work, which has developed wide heather out of dense forest. On the upper floor, you will get to know the animal and machine landscape keepers from the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park Association. The care mix receives a diverse flowering heather landscape. Human intervention is also important today, as this is the only way to preserve the cultural landscape.
Duration approx. 2 hours
The tour ends with a cozy coffee drink. Coffee and tea full, with a piece of cream cake served.
Duration approx. 30 min.
