The Heidschnuckenweg in the Lüneburg Heath won the public vote for "Germany's most beautiful hiking trail 2014" by the specialist magazine Wandermagazin.
There is probably no better way to get to know the country and its people than on shoemaker's pony. Those who hike bring the leisure and attention to devoting themselves to the details of their journey of discovery, pausing here and there, taking a deep breath and being open to the peculiarities of the Lüneburg Heath.
After your arrival a tour through the heather and adventure town of Bispingen awaits you with a visit to the old field stone church “Ole Kerk” from 1353. In the evening we welcome you with a delicious 3-course menu or buffet.
On the second day, after a restful night in our comfortable hotel rooms and an extensive breakfast buffet with sparkling wine, you start the long hike in and around the Lüneburg Heath nature reserve.
Our tour guides will accompany you to the scenic highlights in the Lüneburg Heath nature reserve. Experience the legendary Totengrund and climb the Wilseder Berg. Experience the history of a fascinating landscape. Discover evidence of the Ice Age, traces of the heather farmers and today's heather care as well as rare plants and animals. In the evening we will pamper you with a Heide specialty menu in our restaurant.
Before you start your return journey, visit the Heide-Kastell ISERHATSCHE on the third day. During a two-hour tour you will visit the JAGD-VILLA, the MONTAGNETTO castle hill, the largest PHILOSOPHICAL IRON BAROQUE GARDEN in Europe and the largest collection of beer bottles in the world.
